And’ the fifth Italian agri-food product PDO PGI

The new Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI Food District dedicated to promotion, the development and protection of the product and the enhancement of the supply chain and the culture and tradition of the territories of Modena and Reggio Emilia was born with the recent inclusion in the National List of Food Districts.

The Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI, gives news in the light of the official publication of the recognition in the Official Bulletin of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Mariangela Grosoli, president of the Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI states that it is “a wonderful news, a result of great importance for our sector, which represents a well-deserved recognition of economic value, cultural and traditional of our product and its role within the national agri-food scene”.

Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PGI – fifth Italian agri-food product PDO PGI – contributes to the Made in Italy basket with 100 million liters of certified production capable of generating 400 millions in production value, translated into a billion in consumer value, thanks also to the value generated by the product destined for export that reaches quota 92% of the total.
